Thursday, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day

If it were up to me, our little Eliza would be the poster child for World Down Syndrome Day.  Lizzie is making such great strides as she grows.  And we are so blessed to have therapies and information to give Lizzie the best care possible.  We are fond of saying something like this at our house:  "Lizzie is perfect.  We know exactly where she is going. We hope when we all die and meet Christ, she will be there telling Him to let us in, too"
Nanny & Lizzie

-nanette (nanny)

P.S.  For a very cute and uplifting movie see award winning Monica and David.

You are so blessed! We were blessed with my brother for 37 years. He passed away on Monday. For her sake and yours, don't let her get too spoilt. Encourage her to do all that she can on her own and help her with what she can't do yet. They are capable of so much and they are really very smart in many, many ways. Enjoy her every day.

I heard this on the radio the other day, it's about 3 minutes long, you may enjoy it

Lizzie is a cutie. I know you and your daughter are so happy with her progress. Shows what love will do for a child. Savannah from the Today show also mentioned this special day during the show.

She is one of God's angels sent to remind us that He does not make mistakes and His reasons we may not comprehend, but our faith and trust in Him is forever.

Blessing to you always

Nanette, that picture made me smile. It so, so sweet, maybe it is one to enlarge and frame? Your face is radiating happiness. I just love her chubby little cheeks too, good thing I can't reach her :) xx debbie

There is nothing more perfect in the world than a child who is loved and cherished and a grandmother who dotes on her.

You've succeeded in wrenching my heart strings, Nanette. But you knew that, didn't you.

Aren't all of gods children sweet and wonderful.
You have a lovely little girl.

My daughter's kindergarten teacher used to use this kind of odd but endearing phrase - "She's so sweet I could just squeeze the pudding out of her" - and that's what I thought when I saw the two of you. Adorable.

Thank you for sharing this. I no longer have a blog (I used to be SparkleJars) but I occasionally keep up with blogs I loved (like yours). I've been caring for a daughter with special needs. Anyway, your post was very special today. Thank you for sharing, Gayle
